Retail Façade Resilience

Fountain King Soopers – Fountain, CO
Challenge
A new King Soopers location in Fountain needed a tall, visually prominent light-gauge steelfront façade that could safely resist local wind and gravity loads without driving upconstruction complexity or cost. The contractor needed delegated structural design thatwould integrate cleanly with the rest of the building system and pass review without delays.
Solution
We provided full delegated design for the light-gauge steel façade, combining SimpsonStrong-Tie design software with detailed hand calculations to verify performance underwind and gravity loading. The final design coordinated connection details, bracing, andmember sizing so the framing could be installed efficiently in the field.
  • Verified wind and gravity resistance with both software and hand checks
  • Reduced RFIs by delivering clear, constructible details
  • Helped the contractor maintain schedule through a streamlined façade install
What Clients Say
“Trust Engineering gave us a façade package that just worked—clean details, no surprises inthe field, and fast responses when our team had questions.”

Rooftop Hospitality Expansion

Hilton Garden Inn Rooftop Bar – Colorado Springs, CO
Challenge
A downtown hotel wanted to add a rooftop bar on the 13th floor, creating a premium guestexperience without compromising the existing structure. The design team needed a light, efficient structural solution that could handle gravity and lateral loads at height, coordinatewith architectural goals, and satisfy wind and code requirements on a tight timeline.
Solution
We delivered the full structural design for the rooftop bar’s light-gauge steel system, including gravity and lateral design, shear wall layout, and hold-down detailing for the MainWind Force Resisting System. Our approach balanced safety, stiffness, and constructabilitywhile respecting architectural constraints and existing building systems.
  • Complete gravity and lateral design for a 13th-floor rooftop bar
  • Robust shear wall and hold-down system tuned for high-wind exposure
  • Enabled the owner to activate a high-value amenity space with confidence
What Clients Say
“Our rooftop bar was a complex ask on top of an existing structure. Trust Engineeringhelped us understand the tradeoffs and delivered a solution that felt both safe and elegant.”

Critical Infrastructure for Space Launch

NASA Artemis Ground Support – Kennedy Space Center
Challenge
NASA’s Exploration Ground Systems for the Artemis mission required structural assessments and upgrades of critical ground-support infrastructure—components like the Vehicle Assembly Building transfer aisle floor, crawlerway, and pad structures that experience extreme loads during rollout, testing, and launch. The program needed clear, defensible engineering under tight mission schedules and high public scrutiny.
Solution
We supported multiple ground-support elements with advanced finite element analysis (NX Nastran, SAP2000, STAAD Pro, SAFE, ETABS) and targeted hand calculations. Our work included evaluating existing structures under Probable Maximum Flood and seismic scenarios, recommending strengthening where needed, and providing on-call support during Artemis I rollout, wet dress rehearsals, and launch attempts.
  • Finite element analyses for multiple mission-critical structures
  • Structural improvements identified for extreme flood and seismic events
  • Real-time engineering support during Artemis I rollout and launch operations
What Clients Say
“Having Trust-level structural support during Artemis operations gave our team confidence. Their analyses and recommendations held up under some of the most demanding conditions we’ll ever see.”
