Brian Huston, P.E.
Profile of
Brian Huston, P.E.
Brian does this work because of the people who showed him what real engineering can be.
In high school, his teacher Tony didn’t just talk about science; he had students build working generators and rockets. Those hands-on projects convinced Brian that ideas only really matter when you can see them work in the real world.
Later, at URS Corp, his mentor Guy Lund led in a way that stuck: he gave Brian room to build his own models, take the time needed to solve hard problems, and always tie calculations back to physical outcomes. That season cemented Brian’s conviction that code and drawings are only successful when they become safe, tangible structures.
Brian has been involved with engineering since 2007. He is very interested in the concept of utilizing environmental elements to design more sustainable, durable buildings. He enjoys traveling to various hot springs in Colorado and wants to see them all.
Brian and Mary live in Colorado Springs with their five children. They have both spent the vast majority of their lives in Colorado, before and after meeting at CSU. They enjoy spending their time with their five kids and dozens of extended family members. Being near family is one of their greatest joys. They spend much of their time ferrying their children to guitar, theatre, dance and parkour.
